Carp

According to the Chinese tradition, a carp that could swim upstream and then leap the falls of the Yellow River at Longmen (literally “Dragon Gate” and written “龍門”) would turn into a dragon. Therefore, the design stands for success in life and it is also at the origin of the Japanese expression 登竜門, meaning “gateway to success”.

This design is the result of a collaboration between the two Murakami brothers, who brought together their respective skills to accomplish the design.
